Modulek supports education development at Cerne Abbas First School

On the 1st June 2025, we celebrated the successful completion of a modular school building project for Cerne Abbas CE VC First School in Dorset: a fast, efficient modular construction solution to support the schools needs.

Project Overview

To accommodate growth, Cerne Abbas CE VC First School needed a new modular classroom and office building, which we delivered with a full turnkey modular construction package. The project, valued at £680,000, was completed in just 12 weeks, despite the tight and logistically complex site in the Dorset village. Read the full project case study here for an in-depth look at the design, delivery and client feedback.  View full case study here.

Meeting a Tight Deadline with Modular Construction

Faced with a constrained site located on a busy main road, the school needed a cost-effective and time-sensitive solution. Our modular construction system made it possible to overcome these logistical challenges easily.

We delivered a modular classroom and office building that:

  • Seamlessly blends with the existing architecture using a brick façade and pitched tiled roof
  • Offers additional learning and admin space without disruption to daily school operations
  • Was completed in just 12 weeks, minimising on-site time and impact

Ribbon-Cutting Celebration

To mark the official handover, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on-site, with staff, local council members and the Modulek team attending, including Dan Pester, Modulek’s Sales Director, Catherine Cresswell, Head Teacher at Cerne Abbas and more. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, and a great opportunity to celebrate how modular educational buildings can enhance learning environments quickly and effectively.
