Cerne Abbas First School required modern, purpose-built educational facilities to accommodate a growing student population whilst maintaining the character of their historic Dorset setting. To support their rising enrolment, we delivered a permanent modular school building containing a new classroom and office on a highly constrained roadside site. Provided as a full turnkey package and completed in just 12 weeks, the project shows how our hybrid off‑site modular construction methods bring speed, certainty and minimal disruption to active school environments.

Cranmore School is one of the country’s top independent schools. The school’s science centre was no longer fit for purpose, and needed to be replaced by a new ‘wow’ factor building that could help lift the school’s learning environment. The two run-down Portakabin buildings that were in use were demolished and a new state-of-the-art learning area was installed. The new 2 storey building houses 9 teaching areas and operational rooms for the subjects.

Derby High School were looking for a new dining facility to accommodate growing numbers in a light and inviting central hub where pupils and staff could dine and socialise together. Smart new changing facilities were part of the building design so that Derby High School could host internal and external sporting competitions on their new courts, which were also an important feature of the construction project.

When Emanuel School’s traditional construction project stalled with important deadlines looming, Modulek stepped in to prevent delays. Rather than compromise on Emanuel’s design requirements, Modulek’s architects embraced the challenge.

Lytchett Minster is a successful and popular comprehensive school with a large and thriving sixth form. Due to an increase in student numbers, they had an urgent need for a new classroom block. A key challenge for this project was access due to its rural setting and narrow country roads leading to the school’s entrance. The school was also keen to keep the building project as sustainable as possible and chose Modulek as local experts in the education sector.

St. George’s commissioned an architecturally designed changing pavilion for their college site. The costs received for a traditional build contract were beyond the school’s budget. Modulek were invited to review the plans and propose a matching design in their hybrid construction method to rescue the build so it could go ahead.
