Cerne Abbas needed
extra space to facilitate growth.
Cerne Abbas CE VC First School is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled school in the beautiful village of Cerne Abbas, Dorset. They needed an extra classroom and office building to facilitate growth at the school. However, the main challenge was how tight the site was and the fact it was right beside the main road making delivery and installation very challenging. That’s where modular construction offered the perfect solution — fast, efficient, and ideally suited to constrained sites.

Requirements
A full turnkey package was provided for this project. As the existing building was quite small, they urgently required an extra classroom and office building to accommodate the growing numbers of students and staff at the school. The site was quite tight and restricted, alongside being located on a main road, making delivery and installation a challenge. Modulek had to provide a design that matched the existing school as closely as possible; this involved a site fitted truss rafter pitched roof with tiled finish and also a brickwork façade that matched the existing school seamlessly. With our innovative modular building techniques, we were able to complete the project in just 12 weeks.

Testimonial
“Working with Modulek has definitely been a positive experience. The project was treated with the utmost levels of professionalism, care, and attention – much time and thought were clearly given throughout the process.”
“Modulek fully understood, interpreted, and delivered on the project brief. The building design service was very valuable, and the advice and guidance provided helped us meet and achieve our project objectives. I had already heard how vigilant they were, and that their work was of a high standard with timely delivery.
What I liked most about working with Modulek was how friendly and approachable they were. No job seemed too big for them. They were very professional and always positive.”
